Lord Payback's new cross genre single is titled “Damn Wigga”, a homecoming for the NYC based artist. Not as in his arrival to a place, but a celebration of his comeback that proves his full determination to mark his time.
“Damn Wigga” is the rapper’s fourth release in 2019, after having dropped “Payback”, ”All I Want”, and “Here I Come” earlier this year. His sonical commanding presence highly impresses so much it seems effortless and innate. His fiery vocal performance paired with the equally energetic instrumental creation make this piece a thrilling one, finding Lord Payback at his sharpest and most inspired.
After a break which lasted nearly two years, Common released a much awaited track titled “Her Love”, which is a sequence to 1994’s classic “I Used to Love H.E.R.”.
In the single, Common continues to address his true feelings and unyielding love for Hip Hop and raps about how it gave him a voice and allowed him to be heard.
You gave me a voice in the world
It's been hard to choose another girl
You everybody's but you my girl to me
I'm forever yours, to the tic-toc
I'm still talking 'bout you, hip-hop.
The music video is not less impressive, celebrating the diversity and essence of black women.
Currently, the Grammy and Academy award-winning rapper is working on his upcoming album Let Love Have the Last Word planned to be premiered in August. The album bears the name of Common’s new memoir released in May, which made it to The NY Best Seller list.
On January 26, 2019 there was a tragic accident that took the lives of two men. One was a member of our show that airs on Tuesday's (The Burgh Boyz) and the other was a good samaritan(Landen M. Jones) who had stopped to help our friend Jason H. Jackson.
While attempting to get Jackson's disabled car going again, It was believed that Jackson and Landen Manning Jones, who pulled behind Jackson to assist, fell from the Parkway East onto Second Avenue after a third vehicle hit the back of Jones' car. When Jackson and Jones fell on to Second Avenue, they were hit by another car. Both Jackson and Jones were killed in the incident.
There has been an outpour of love and support coming from friends and family of Landen, reading all the comments about how great of person he was personifies why these two men's paths crossed. May peace be upon both families of our brother Jason Jackson and Landen Jones.
In lieu of this tragedy The Burgh Boyz have asked for donations via GOFUNDME to help his family.
After witnessing a prerequisite of what was only probably a trial period turned into deja vu for Pittsburgh native/ multi-platinum recording artist Wiz Khalifa.
"One shot, two shots
I done mixed McQueen with the Blue Dot"
When Wiz dropped his video “Letterman” along side his honey at the time Izzy (who was featured on the cover of his mixtape “Laugh Now, Fly Later”) he had some eye popping exclusives during his video of him making a nice bartender's pour of McQueenVioletFog into a glass garnished with the brand's distinct logo.
"I got that Hemi in my whip, so I can't slow it down
I got McQueen in my cup, so it's going down
I got that KK in my joint, so you know it's going 'round"
Not to mention Khalifa has also dropped some bars about his deal with McQueen in a few of his most recent releases. No official word on how much this deal went for but the gin tastes amazing and should be in wine and spirits mid to late January 2019.
